There is something so beautiful and almost magical about an elopement! We LOVE being a part of them. An intimate ceremony that only includes you, the love of your life, and the people who love you the most. JB and Scarlet decided to have an elopement in lieu of a traditional wedding and the result was indeed magical. These guys met a few years ago at a martial arts gym and they decided to make things official by tying the knot this past September. When they asked for us to photograph and said that it was going to be very intimate, only about 8 to 10 guests, we were giddy! We knew how special this wedding would be and were so honored to be a part of it. They had the ceremony at Whispering Pines Plantation in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia. This property is so gorgeous! It features a huge estate with enough bedrooms to host an entire wedding party, and the grounds are just beautiful. We are so happy with the final images from this day and are so excited to finally be featuring them on our blog.
Scarlet had her three daughters standing by her side when she said, “I do”. The bond between all of these young ladies was undeniable. We loved getting to capture the beauty of their relationship with one another as they got ready. Growing up with a sister of my own, I know how special a sisterhood is, and I just loved the love that these girls have for each other. Scarlet wore a simple but gorgeous beaded gown and made a STUNNING bride.
One of our favorite things to photograph is the moment that the groom sees his bride for the first time. Whether it be during the first look, or from the end of an aisle. The emotion in JB’s eyes when he saw Scarlet really show how much he loves her! When we were editing, we fell in love with the images of him waiting for the love of his life to walk down that aisle and become his wife. AH! <3 The ceremony was so beautiful. JB and Scarlet said their vows in front of the closest members of their families, it was everything they wanted it to be.
We took photos on the grounds of Whispering Pines after the ceremony and were blown away by them. These guys were so comfortable in front of the camera and the connection between the two of them was irrefutable. It was almost like we could physically feel the love between them.
After leaving the venue, the newlyweds and their guests went to a private location where they continued celebrating with a small gathering of close friends and family and of course, delicious food! Naturally we managed to squeeze in a few more shots on this beautiful farm land. We are so happy we got to be a part of such a special moment. Congratulations to The Heslips!
